Congratulations on taking the initiative to make a change towards bettering your health. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that you need to make a change and it takes even more courage to take action.

Below I have my biggest tips, tricks, and words of wisdom to keep in mind as you tackle your fitness goals…

  • Set a reasonable deadline then add a couple months to that in order to give yourself a buffer.

  • Don’t start by throwing the whole toolbox at yourself from the beginning. Start with just the screwdriver at first.

  • Make this sustainable. As you’re going to have to exercise and eat well for the rest of your life in order to maintain your goal once you get there.

  • Start walking more. Park a little further from the grocery store, or walk around the house while talking on the phone.

  • Drink more water. Start your day with 20 - 30 ounces of water everyday.

  • Eat veggies with every meal. Veggies will keep you full and provide you with vital micronutrients your body needs.

  • Little changes go a long ways when starting out.

  • Don’t expect perfection from yourself. Its okay to mess up, but make sure to get back on track at the next meal.

  • Consistency is the secret ingredient.

  • Incorporate some form of resistance training into your routine.

  • Sleep is very important. 7 - 9 hours a night if all possible.

  • Last but definitely not least is to have some confidence in yourself. You can do this!

I hope this post finds you well and gets you thinking in the right mindset as your begin tackling your fitness goals.
